Maine, the US state with a population of over 1 million, has a popular new local writer in the shape of local resident and YouWriteOn member Patricia J. DeLois. The state's largest daily circulation newspaper, the Press Herald, has rated YouWriteOn Book of the Year Award winner Bufflehead Sisters by Patricia no. 1 on its list of 10 books recommended by newspaper readers, professional reviewers, book store owners, and librarians. This included being listed ahead of a sequel by Pulitzer Prize winner Richard Ford. Please see story link below. Patricia's story rated within the Top 5,000 on Amazon US out of over two million books last week as a result. As a result of her success with Bufflehead Sisters, Patricia has been approached by a literary agency and is now represented by Diane Freed of FinePrint Literary Management. A major publisher is currently discussing a two book deal with Patricia's agent.

Patricia's also story received an excellent review in the Maine Sunday Telegram, and she informs us that after the review came out a bookseller in Maine contacted her to say he'd had "so many requests that he's ordering them a dozen at a time, and they're being sold before they arrive, so now he says if he can catch up with the demand, he'll order 30 extras to stock."
