Morning guys,

Some news you may be interested in is that yesterday I was approached by the manager at the Northampton branch of Waterstone's asking me if I would be interested in doing an official in-store book signing for Fallen Heroes as copies of the book have now sold out three times in a row and once at their flagship branch in Piccadilly. So, to cut a long story short the signing is due to take place on 6th September between 11-1pm (which according to the manager is their busiest time).

The book is also (as some of you know) soon to be republished by YWO. With this new version of the book Waterstone’s have allowed me to used some of the blurb from the Fallen Heroes review they did to be printed on the back cover.

‘This story pulls together loads of ideas and genres and will appeal to fans of the Da Vinci Code, Mission Impossible and James Bond to name but a few. If you enjoyed The ‘A’ team, love Indiana Jones and enjoy the fantasy of ‘X men’ you’ll really relish this stylish action-packed adventure.’ Waterstone’s

I'm so please about all this I'm fit to burst. I've gone further with Fallen Heroes than I ever thought I would.

Fantastic. Excellent work, just shows that self publishing can work. Heard your radio broadcast a while ago by the way. You're obviously willing to work at the publicity. But in some ways it sounds like you've just hit the right spot in the marketplace too, the bookshop have a few well known books/films to compare to yours, and so people will pick up your book and buy it if they're fans of that. Brilliant.
It sounds like a book my 15 year old might enjoy - he loves Indiana Jones, and the X Men. But he hates books, he acts like they’ll burn him if he picks one up!!
I think the audio trailer might well sell it to him. How did you do that? Sounds like a film trailer...(even though it didn't quite come through smoothly it still sounded great.) Next step, film script!
Well done again.
Tricia.

I'm pretty sure she said she was going to put in a bulk order before the signing.

Wow? didn't realise too many people listened . I'm hoping to go on again to push the signing as they said they were happy for me to come back.

Yeah I've tried my best to push that angle in the press releases I've sent to bookshops.

Hopefully he'll like it . If you go to the website I've got some audio chapters of the book he could have a listen to.There's also a 15 page preview.

Well I also do a podcast so was able to do the final editing myself. I also wrote the trailer script. I'd made some links with a guy who does audio dramas. He was able to sort out the voice actors and sound effects. The rest, as they say, is history.

Hi all, thanks for all the well wishes! The signing was today and to be honest I'm still kinda of brain frazzled. It felt like today happened to someone else, like it wasn't real but I've seen the photos so it must be. I probably be around on skype later tonight to chat more if anyone want to hear me ramble about it. I shifted 12 copies which I was really chuffed about. Even more for me was that over half of those were to people I'd never met before. If sue reads this when I'm not looking I wanted to thank her for getting me my first non-friend sale and boosting my confidence enough to go out and talk to people. Cheers love!!!!!!

The highpoint of my day was having to explain to a 10 year(I was 11 when I wrote my first story) and his brother how I became an author...it's a cliche' but that was a dream come true for me. After I finished talking I looked up and their was four other kids and their parents listening a couple of which bought copies.

Work on Monday is going to seem a lot duller from now on.

Photos will be up probably tomorrow.

Thanks guys. The final count from Waterstone's is 14 copies sold at the signing! They've also sent the photos taken during the signing and they will go out as Waterstone's weekly bulletin which goes to all it's branches.

Here are some of the photos

Congrats! You should cherish those photos, they’ll still be working for you in years to come. I know this as I’ve got photos of me with the Waterstone’s big W in the background and it impresses people no end.
