One thing I'm confused about: YWO sets the price of the book. I need to know how much they would sell for, because if they are terribly expensive (especially since everybody I know is American) I might have trouble convincing people to buy them. Also, I would probably buy a supply of them, but I would need to know their costs. Can you explain this?

This is a concern of mine as well. I am in the U.S. and wondered what it will cost my friends and relatives to purchase my book? I do not know anything about the money exchange. Also what would the shipping charges be? I would also be interested in purchasing my own books and read somewhere on the board that the author would receive a discount? Could you also explain more about the deal to have your book available on Amazon? (What would it cost in American $$) Thanks....Lori

For example, for Bufflehead Sisters, a 300 page book, this retails at £6.49 (and currently $12.99 on Amazon US). Price depends on the size of the book. The distribution service payment is £39.99 or $70 US. This means that books would be made available to be bought through the ordering services of most major booksellers, including Amazon US and UK and Barnes and Noble. The postage costs from US residents for those buying your book from Amazon US would be just US postage costs. Authors will be offered a discount of their own books. The demand for the service has been high, so we will advise on discount nearer publication time as this has put us in a more advantageous position for printing costs.

Ted can I ask a question please? Children's books are usually cheaper than adult books and often have far fewer pages. Will this be taken into consideration when pricing? Thanks.
