Who's in Yours - Help Build The World's Biggest

Occasionally on YouWriteOn we see posts from members about something that they say has helped put developing a story and everything else in perspective.

In lieu of having the programming function to do this, YouWriteOn has a virtual family that we find useful to look outside of the day-to-day from time to time, so we thought we'd give it a bash.

Developing a novel, a website, anything, can take a lot of time and patience. We liked this as we could do it straight away, and the achievement's made, and it reminds us that though some things may not always succeed, we will reach and achieve other things, even if they may sometimes take longer. While we're doing that the virtual family is already walking along out there.

If you've got a virtual family, or aspire to start one or add something to yours, let us know and post your virtual family emoticons. Every now and then when building up steam about something or other, pop here for some quiet contemplation (ignoring the jumping up and down of the smiley's of course).

What's in your virtual family, and what's their story? If we haven't got the emoticon let us know. Who knows, perhaps we might be able to grow one of the biggest virtual families on the world wide web.

Here's ours:

YouWriteOn's Virtual Family

Sam, through DogsTrust an Agoraphobic dog. Distinguishing features - fluffy legs. The same distinguishing features as Ted we believe

Haiti Child, through Action Aid Once one of the richest countries in the developing world, Haiti has emerged from decades of dictatorship and instability as one of the poorest.

Virtual Sick Relative through The National Blood Service Every 16 weeks, Help Dog will trundle on down to the blood centre and eat free biscuits. You get a free key ring after the second (donation, not biscuit) which we believe is more impressive to those you show it to than a Mercedes (unless you're at a stocks meeting)

What we'd like to add A goat. We've got Help Dog to eat assignments on site, but at some time when Gordon cuts us a tax break we aspire to add a goat.

Who knows, perhaps we might be able to grow one of the biggest virtual families on the world wide web, get some press to encourage people to add their own and read some stories while they're at it! If you have your own site you may, or may not, want to add your own virtual family thread. One day we may all link up.

Let's start here, who'll start off next? What's in your virtual family, and what's their story? If we haven't got the emoticon let us know.

Or the world's smallest virtual family but most exclusive

Let's support this fellow - he looks like he has a few issues.
