good crime story and great writing style
I'm not a a crime book fan but I recognised from the beginning that this was great writing! It sounds like published work. There are only a few typos here and there. And I might suggest removing the "as". I use the "as" a lot but I think sentences can be improved by removing them. But really, I thought, "what a treat to read".
If I had been a fan of the genre, I probably would have enjoyed it more but by the last chapter, I was into it. Probably because a romance was starting to bloom! I am more interested when there are women involved in stories that are typically masculine, so it's a good thing for me that the main character is a woman ... I got disinterested in chapter four because there were too much mechanic talk and I would have liked to know more on what the situation was about.
By far it is great work! I think you are convincing in the field of crime writing and it shows that you have experience in writing ...
