We just want to thank everyone out there on youwriteon who reviewed our crime thriller Sugar & Spice over the past months or has recently bought the e-book.

We launched on Amazon in November with lots of teething problems (even managing to upload it with three chapters missing!) but despite this it's climbed steadily since, and this week it broke into the top ten in the Kindle thriller genre chart, and the top forty in the overall Kindle chart (updates by the hourly so may be subject to change either way).

It's all the more amazing given that the book is a joint venture by two authors who "met" on youwriteon just last summer, and is up against competition from established brands like James Patterson and the Stieg Larrson books.

Thanks to everyone for their critiques, good or bad!

Well done Saffina and Mark... I have just put my first book on Kindle and I gather it takes a couple of days to become available.
I'm at the jittery stage so your success gives me hope!
Did you do anything special to draw attention to it?

With just under a million e-books in the Kindle store it's essential you have some kind of platform to get the word out that your book is available, and to muster interest.

Saffy is our main driving force when it comes to promotion.

My blog, with impeccable bad-timing, went off-line just as Sugar & Spice was launched, and is only just back this last week or so (including the regular youwriteon Ones To Watch post) .

Check it out at www.markwilliamsinternational.com.

We'll look up your book on Amazon over the next week or so and hopefully give it some promotion on our sites.

Ditto for anyone else out there on youwriteon taking the big step and "going indie."

Thank you so much, you have given me such encouragement, especially as I am not so hot at the technical stuff. I shall certainly look up all you and Saffi have done and try to emulate....Having just put my book on, I was horrified to have an e-mail from Amazon questioning my copyright...I have to assure them on that, which will take a couple of days perhaps, but I'm hoping it will be on-line next week...
Thanks again, it is so good to have someone on your side in this solitary business...

I don't look on the message boards much, so I just spotted this. Congratulations again!

Thanks! Currently holding fifth place in thrillers and in and out of the top twenty overall, and with reviews to die for, so must be doing something right!
