Stay Out of the Water!
Poisonous Jellyfish Invading the UK's WatersTheir names sound menacing; Portuguese Man Of War, Lion's Mane and more often than not so is their sting.
Warmer waters are attracting increasing numbers of jellyfish to our shores and while they may look beautiful and fascinating do not be tempted to touch them. Most of them have a sting of some kind and many a dangerous one.
In a repeat of last year, increasing numbers of the dangerous Portuguese Man Of War are being washed up on the South West coast. Marine scientists believe warmer waters are bringing the more harmful species to the UK's shores.
