Oops, that wasn't meant to happen - I thought I had a "Remove Review" in hand so that I could drop back to seven reviews again, which would automatically drop me out of the TT if I happened to get into it. So I've just put another credit on, as I'm really not looking for another pro crit at this stage.
Still, it's quite encouraging that the second, highly revised, version is getting the same sort of scores as the original.

Oh, I do want a second pro crit eventually! But I want to finish the first draft of the whole thing first, so that if the second pro crit is as good as the first one was, I can immediately ask the pro critter if s/he will take a look at the whole thing.

LOL, do you want a hand setting up a cot there, rosalind. You're starting to look like a squatter.

Gah! I wish I'd never said anything now about not wanting another pro crit yet. At the time, I really didn't want one because (a) I was nowhere near finishing my first draft, and (b) you're not supposed to have two pro crits in less than six months on the same piece. But now (a) I've nearly finished my first draft, and (b) I've realised that it's six months from the time you "win" the first pro crit, not from the time you receive it, so I'm well over the time limit, as it was back in September that the original version made the Best Sellers. Duh.
So now I would rather like another one - but the chances are slim: I'm off on holiday on Sunday until after the month-end, and won't have internet access, so I won't be around to ditch the almost inevitable low-scoring review that is bound to appear sooner or later. Ah well. There's always next month to try again.

That's very kind of you, Victoria - thank you! It's unlike anything I've ever tried before, and it seems to be going well so far. I'm taking the MS to France with me tomorrow, hoping to be able to finish it with the help of a substantial intake of gros rouge.
