Hi. I just removed a review for Red Shadows (revised) thinking that the bottom two would be gone. But only one was removed.... If we've changed back to the old method (Only 1 every 8) that's fine, but can I have my removal back and readd the deleted one??? If only one is going away I'd like to hold onto the option for awhile. The text said 2 when I was in the process of removal, so I think that is only fair. Sorry for the fuss.
Thanks.

I had this too. I figured it was because the one I'd selected was the lowest, so the "also remove the lowest" bit didn't apply. I do see that there's another thread saying we're reverting, though.
From what I can gather last month's scores were much higher than usual, which I'm guessing is down to the remove 2 feature (1 and 2 - your good self - were both 6 reviews of 8 I believe).
I didn't bother saying anything after my remove experience because I was lucky enough to get into the Top10 last month, hot on your heels, but I see this is an extract of yours that's waiting to get in, so I'll wade in to back you up - I'm all for going back to 1 but the removes probably ought to do what they say they're going to (informed choices and all), so I'll join the give Bill back his review campaign.

At least you can remove one! I got an email today to tell me I could now remove a review - but there's no button. Still waiting for a reply from Ted.

Today we are back to remove one in eight remove reviews.
Hi BillMc, I can readd this review, you did correctly remove the lowest one, let me know.
Hi LibbyAst, for Treespeaker currently you have received 31 Assignment reviews overall, including the 3 removed already, so you need one more to remove a review. The Dragon Box has 24 reviews with 3 removed already.

Yes, I've had 24 reviews on Dragon Box and removed 3 which leaves 21. After the original 8, I removed 1 (=7)... which means last time, when I removed 2 reviews, I was on 15 and went back to 13. Now I have 21. 13+8=21...so I've had 8 more reviews since I last removed a review. I received an email saying I was eligible to remove one and my maths says it was right - so why am I wrong?

Hi Katie
Upon going back to the system of remove one in eight today, the system ensures that members can remove only 1 review every 8 and multiples of 8 thereafter. At 24 the maximum amount of reviews that the system will now allow to remove is 3 until another 8 reviews are received. Any previous emails may have originated from the 2 in 8 system which was trialed last month. I hope this explains how the system process works.

Yes, please readd the deleted review as long as I am not somehow losing my delete review option that I get for having 8. If my delete is gone forever then, please leave it deleted. Does that make sense? Also, I can't seem to find my book The Second Siege on the Top Ten list. I know it dropped out of the actual Top Ten because there wasn't a credit assigned to it on July 2nd (though the message said end of the day and it really should have said beginning of the day, i.e. end of July 1 - but no big deal) but I can't seem to find it anywhere on the list. Not #22, not #71, etc. Where did it go? Am I somehow banned? By the way, the feedback I have been getting is really helpful and I always feel a tad petty when we worry about deletes and rankings, etc. The best thing about your site is the constant feedback. Bravo Ted! And Tommi, thanks for the backing. Hope you get the table at that restaurant you wanted. Best, Bill

Best, Bill Bill, you can't find it in the charts because t'ain't there - it's in the Best Sellers , and that retires it to a life of leisure (or, to use a more appropriate equine metaphor) retires it to stud! You can still edit it, but I don't think you can upload new versions for chart positions.

Hi Katie - if I read Ted right, I think you need to have 27 in order to remove another one now. I'm in the same boat If I'd known, I would have preferred just the one removal at 15 instead of 2, but never mind - at least everyone's in the same boat! JR

NOt sure I understand this either. I received yesterday a note that I am eligible for one remove, but there isna nae button there. I had 8 reviews, removed 2 what brought the number down to 6. Now, 8 reviews later, the overall count is 14, which equals a difference of eight reviews. No? And it's very important to me to remove that darn vicious review.

And it's very important to me to remove that darn vicious review. If the 'trial' 2 in 8 is gone and the old system returned, you need 16 in total. Removed reviews come off the total for the software to allow removal. You need two more in this case. (16 reviews displayed, those removed no longer count). Ted suggests that any emails sent are due to the trial month and whilst hugely annoying, will vanish over time. So the 'new' system - never advertised as a trial, although it now seems it was - is gone and the whole 'remove lowest review' idea is back where it was in the development chain eighteen months ago ... 'coming soon'. Caveat: I may be wrong, I've lost track of what's happening here lately, it changes too often.

I thought from Ted's comments that the extra removals will be put against future batches of eight.
So if you've removed 2 at the eight review stage, that counts for 2 batches (16 reviews, 2 removed). You don't get another one until the end of the 3rd batch - ie when you have 22 reviews showing (24 - 2). This would put everyone on the same footing.
But it wasn't spelled out, so I expect I'm wrong.... and blissful in my ignorance!
