Hi Ted,
I've seen in another thread that there could be a minimum and maximum number of pages allowed - could you clarify exactly what these are please?

Many thanks.

Hi Ted,
I'm bumping this back up because I really need to know if there is a minimum page requirement - If my children's book doesn't meet it then there isn't much point with me struggling on with the formatting
(Not bad typing for a woman who smacked her finger with a sledgehammer)

Hi Dolly,

With spine text, books must be no fewer than 80 pages and up to 740 pages.

Without spine text, no fewer than 48 pages nor more than 76 pages.

Oh Bottom - I think I'm stuffed, well definitely if I have to go with single line spacing ...

Dolly, could you use a bigger typeface to make up for having fewer words?

I've gone into 14 font which is the biggest allowed but it still looks a pig's ear and I'm still a little short of the page count ...

I can manage it in double line spacing (which actually looks the best and is easiest for reluctant readers) but that isn't allowed ...

I'm gutted really ... but thanks for trying

If you go with a PDF version you can have anything you want, single spacing - double spacing - triple spacing - 10-11-12-14-16 point, or more. As I understand it, with PDF WYSIWYG. As long as the PDF conforms to page size, margins, pagination, bleed, gutter, header and footer rules, and as long as the submitted number of pages are divisible by 4, YWO should be abe to print it for you.

I can set the page up as I want MJ, but on another thread Ted said it all needed to be singleline spacing.

I'm a bit stuck on all this ...

Bottom line is, I can cover the 48 pages in 14 font if I double line space. If it's single line, no matter what I do, I can't. It just looks silly.

But like you said, I can set it up that way in PDF, so why can't it be printed that way ...?

Hi dollywagon, if you can set up a PDF to the exact page sizing instructions and you are happy with how your book looks if you don't use single spacing then you are welcome to submit by this method.

Hi Ted, You posted to Dollywagon that the page number for work submitted for the free publishing offer, should be not less than fourty eight, nor more than seventy six. Do these figures only apply to chidrens books, or is this for all books submitted? Also, if an author already has copyright registered on their work does this need to be stated when submitting?

Why does 'spine text' lead to such a disparity in upper page limits?

With spine text = up to 740 pages
Without spine text = not more than 76 pages?

It's to do with the size of a spine which allows print to be added to the spine.
