Sorry Ted, locking these threads is like fighting a fire with a chocolate broom; far better to let them burn themselves out naturally. YWO is bigger than the MB's and those that leave will be replaced by new blood, but nothing will change, that’s the nature of the beast.

I feel some clichés coming on.
Might be worth checking how many horses have bolted before locking the stable door - and how & why?
To my mind some members are getting rather over emotional about what is only an on line 'club'.
But, hey, we've all got our own levels & it's sad to see people you feel you know up & leave when a bit of explanation might have resolved the issue.
Sweeping all the crap under the carpet & hoping nobody will notice is not the answer. People can already see the bumps.

I agree with notley. In fact, what I said in a previous post about things being the same was wrong. They're not. I've never seen so many members banned or topics locked in such quick succession before. I think Lyn has acted hastily - been there, done that - but I fear she will have the courage of her convictions. For Pam to up and leave is a biggie. She's one of the longest-standing members.

What pisses me off is the lack of explanation. I know Perry hacked a lot of people off, but I've seen other members throw wobblies and be abusive without getting banned. I've seen members leave malicious reviews and not get banned. There has been far worse behaviour on here that has passed Ted by. Or perhaps no-one went crying to teacher.

Despite Perry's outbursts, when on form, he contributed a great deal (although not going to condone in any way the attacks on Sue which I never understood). Tyler was far more interesting and literate than many members who post. Lyn was a great MB member who was passionate and interesting and knowledgable.

Sure, it's Ted's site but people do feel invested to a greater or lesser degree. This locking of topics is pathetic. So, if we don't talk about stuff, it will all go away. What a sack of shit.

At this rate I might be forced to do something drastic - like some writing.

I'm just wondering whether some more persistent effort to hack/sabotage the YWO operation may be going on, e.g. see the comments by Willow 55 ('I'm pissed off' etc) in 'The Place Where' section. It's just a guess on my part and I've no evidence to back it up.

However I could quite see that if something sinister was taking place then the operators/moderators of the site wouldn't want to give out too much detail about it.

Most people are registered with a number of sites, including the one that Lynn so blatantly marketed. They are all on that site and have been for a while if you want to chat. You don’t have to cancel your registration of other sites to do so, nor do you need to rubbish other sites, they are all pretty much the same, with pretty much the same membership. All the best.

I can see what you mean & it does beg a question.
Perhaps a rival site is trying to discredit this 1, even kill it off.
But surely it's better to let the members here know something about what is going on rather than try & cover it up.
There are clear signs of loyalty towards YWO - and justified praise.
But not in the way things are being managed.
You can't expect members to follow the leader blindly into battle like WW1 cannon fodder.

All good points and, as I say, not much evidence to back up my speculation.

Well, most people on here know about The Shed. I've also got a few people's e-mails if I want to chat. I'm just more concerned about the reasons behind their leaving. I'm aware Ted hasn't actually had them bumped off, cased in concrete and dumped in a deep reservoir. Although the image of Ted behind a large desk, leaning into an intercom and whispering: 'Kill them' does amuse me.

I imagine Lyn and Pam are going to read this at some point (how could you not?). So I suggest they both take a break for a week and then come back. If we stay away from the forums for a while (at least ignore the rantings of the sock puppets, arseholes, whatever you want to call them), they will go away, bored. It is only the angst that they have caused among the genuine members that keeps them coming back. IGNORE THEM! If you post something and someone posts a reply that is obviously intended to get under your skin (sorry about the cliche, notley), ignore it and reply only to the people that matter. At the end of the day, Lyn and Pam, this is your site; you have been members for a long time. Why let the actions of a few morons spoil it for you. Hopefully, one or two of the pricks will reply to this and I can ignore them Bring it on, wankers!
