I do not by choice read fantasy, (but i have read it to my children as they were growing up), and i have to admit to a little groan, when i got yet another fantasy adventure to review. More goblins, elves and dwarves and fairies - hurrah!

But Gruff is in a league of its own. Not only is the premise original or at least not overly done (searching for the last human), but as an adult reader there is enough subtle humour in the form of the squabbling between the dwarf and warg and the grumble to keep me entertained.

The quest is set out clearly from the off and the characters leap off the page.

In my opinion this is one of the best fantasy adventures i have read on YWO.

What do others think?

I recently reviewed this story also and agree that is well written and original.

I’ve read several top-notch fantasy stories on YWO and “Gruff the Cowardly Orc” is one of them.

I just sit down and write.
William Carlos Williams

The unflattering reviews are painful for short periods of time;
the badly written ones are deeply, deeply insulting.
That reviewer took no time to really read the book.
