The Writer's & Artists Yearbook 2008 book is out with a wealth of information for writers and, the cover says, advice from J K Rowling, Terry Pratchett, Bernard Cornwall and others.

We are pleased to say that YouWriteOn.com gets its first mention. With a cunning use of the alphabet we are situated near the front of one of the sections instead of near the back where the letter Y usually puts us.

Aside: help dog, whose idea was it to start a website with a Y for the first letter? Stop making toast and search amongst the breadcrumbs in your memory bank.

I wonder if you got your inspiration from an old episode of "Dad's Army?" The ARP reckoned they should lead the parade and the Home Guard were due to bring up the rear. Needless to say, with the help of Sgt Wilson's um, er 'brain' they ended up at the front of the parade. Army coming before ARP.

Apologies to the rest of the world who surely will not know what I am talking about - does anybody?

That's it! Of course, you know then that they were going to be preceded in the parade by some old goat obtained by Walker.
